About Me

Hi!  My name is Juan Carlos Acevedo and I am a park and recreation professional in the Chicagoland area.  I have 18 years of experience creating, developing, and marketing leisure programs, activities, and events to diverse communities.

I’ve become well-versed in marketing and communications, including market research, branding, content creation, social and digital media management, print and promotions, and public messaging.  I currently work at the Wheeling Park District and at the University of Illinois as an instructor and research coordinator.  I love what I do and am excited to share my passion with you. Let’s work together to grow the park and recreation field in our amazing communities!
